Summer Crochet Guide
So summer is finally around the corner here in the UK and with a May full of rainy days we sure need that summer sun! I’ve put together my top 5 patterns for summer and if you’re an acrylic lover like me and struggle to find suitable projects in the heat then don’t worry, I’ve kept this guide as summer friendly as I possibly could.
Cotton Face/Dish Cloths

Starting with one of my very own patterns. This free beginner pattern is not to be missed. Made from 100% cotton this project is something small and light to work on during those hot days where you want to crochet without getting sweaty palms, happens to us all! Find my pattern here and remember to tag me so I can see and share your beautiful work!
Summer Crochet Bag

This gorgeous summer bag by Jennifer at A Crocheted Simplicity is just summer ready! I love the mix of colours and neutrals and could totally see myself at the beach with this one!
Made from cotton this project is sure to keep the heat off you while crocheting and makes a beautiful sturdy make too!

Crochet Beach Ball Pillow

Now if this doesn’t scream summer, I don’t know what does! Since forever our family has always taken a beach ball to the beach or swimming pool. Do you have any summer time routines?
This amazing free crochet pattern was created by the beautiful Alexis of persialou and you can find this delight here on her site
Coasters

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t mention Bella Coco, my crochet idol! When you don’t want too big a project but still something pretty why not try some coasters? Sarah-Jayne has the cutest coaster pattern that I use time and time again for gifting. Again this is a free pattern, even better you can make it in any yarn type, making it super versatile but cottons work best in summer to keep that heat off. Check it out here on the Bella Coco website.
TIP – If you like a soft shiny look try mersericed cotton instead of craft cotton. I will leave a link here to the Marriner Website, which I highly recommend!

Summer Shawlett

If you’re after a project that’s a little bigger and will keep you warm on those summer nights then this is the one for you! This gorgeous summer shawl is light and airy, just perfect! I love the colour here too, keeping it to a minimum so the stitch pattern stands out more.
Find this free pattern here on the Ned and Mimi website.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this round up and it sparks some summer crochet ideas for you. Enjoy your cuppa,
